Over the weekend I took part in the Mind Body Soul Experience at Alexandra Palace and met some wonderful people. Something that came up a lot in conversations, and with people who applied for coaching sessions, was a lack of self-love and self-belief. This is something that really resonates with me as it was a big part of my life journey. So here’s a self-love exercise for you.
Write down five positive things about yourself. The only rule is that these cannot be things that you ‘have’, or physical attributes. Your list must only be things that you ‘do’ or even better, things that you ‘are’. What doing those things really says about you. So if something you ‘do’ is to is creating a safe, loving home for your family, maybe you ‘are’ caring or nurturing.
Look at this list every day to remind yourself of your positive traits, and try to add to it each day. I’d love to know what you come up with, so let me know in the comments, or post a comment in the Facebook community. Treat yourself with the same kindness as you would others, and watch out for the way you speak about yourself, both aloud and in your head.
Be kind to yourself and love yourself because you deserve it.
